Workshops E-news Advertising Policy & Rates

A. Introduction

STAT has an electronic newsletter which allows the advertising of non-STAT run Workshops, Talks and Seminars (henceforth “Workshop(s)”) for teachers and students only, sent via email at monthly intervals to all STAT members; i.e. teachers, students and non-teaching members.

This policy is intended to provide rates and guidelines as to the type of advertising that may be permitted and the technical standards associated with the display of those advertisements.

B.   General Principles

The placement of workshop information in the newsletter will be subject to approval before it is sent via the electronic newsletter. STAT reserves the right to refuse to promote any individual workshop, which, in the opinion of STAT is considered inappropriate and not meeting the conditions below.

C.   Conditions of advertising & Rates - CPD Enewsletter Advertising

C.1    General Conditions

  • The newsletter will be sent out on the first working day of each month. In the event that no workshops are being promoted, no newsletter will be sent out and the next one will be sent as scheduled on the first working day of the following month.

  • All workshops will have to first be uploaded on the STAT website in order to be included in the newsletter. Any link included in the newsletter will lead back to the respective page on the website.

  • It is the responsibility of the presenters to upload all the necessary information on the website. The main presenter(s) / organiser(s) of all workshops must be STAT members. 

  • It is the responsibility of the presenters to provide STAT office with the necessary information for the newsletter at least two weeks prior to the generation of the newsletter to ensure their workshops are included. The newsletter will include a workshop title, names of presenters, a short two-line description and an image.  If no description is provided only the title will be included. No extended description will be included apart from the aforementioned two lines. No Workshop promotion on behalf of third parties implies official endorsement by the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique.

  • STAT is not responsible for the quality or reliability of the information included within any advertisement or that of the respective Workshop.

  • STAT does not accept responsibility for errors, omissions or for any consequences arising from inaccurate information given in the enewsletter and/or website listings.

C.2    STAT AT teachers’ Workshops

  • Subject to approval, STAT will include a short description of the workshops and link to information on workshops submitted and led by STAT teaching members, for £10 per workshop.

  • Each workshop will appear on the newsletter for three (3) consecutive months (depending on the date of the workshop).

  • The inclusion of a workshop is subject to full payment of the stated fee.

  • All information will be AT-related. STAT reserves the right to decline to include information if the connection with the AT is not direct.

C.3    Affiliated AT teachers’ Workshops

  • Subject to approval, STAT will include information on workshops submitted and led by Affiliated, non-STAT teaching members, for £15 per workshop.

  • Each workshop will appear onthe newsletter for three (3) consecutive months (depending on the date of the workshop).

  • The inclusion of a workshop is subject to full payment of the stated fee.

  • All information will be AT-related. STAT reserves the right to decline to include information if the connection with the AT is not direct.

Note: All rates given above are not subject to VAT.

 

D.   Conditions of advertising & Rates - Individual  E-Advertising

D.1    General Conditions

  • All workshops will have to first be uploaded on the STAT website in order to be advertised. Any link included in the newsletter will lead back to the respective page on the website.

  • It is the responsibility of the presenters to upload all the necessary information on the website. The main presenter(s) / organiser(s) of all workshops must be STAT members. 

  • It is the responsibility of the presenters to provide STAT office with the necessary information for the newsletter at least one week prior to the generation of the advert to ensure their workshops are included. The advert will include a workshop title, names of presenters, a short two-line description and an image.  If no description is provided only the title will be included. No extended description will be included apart from the aforementioned two lines. No Workshop promotion on behalf of third parties implies official endorsement by the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique.

  • The inclusion of a workshop is subject to full payment of the stated fee.

  • All information will be AT-related. STAT reserves the right to decline to include information if the connection with the AT is not direct.

D.3    Affiliated AT teachers’ Workshops

  • Subject to approval, STAT will include information on workshops submitted and led by Affiliated, non-STAT teaching members, for £50 per workshop.

  • Each workshop will appear on the newsletter for three (3) consecutive weeks (depending on the date of the workshop).

  • The inclusion of a workshop is subject to full payment of the stated fee.

  • All information will be AT-related. STAT reserves the right to decline to include information if the connection with the AT is not direct.

Note: All rates given above are not subject to VAT.

 

E.   Advertising Standards Authority

All advertising must adhere to any relevant regulations and Code of Practice of STAT. All adverts must also adhere to the codes of conduct laid down by the Advertising Standards Authority and must not conflict with STAT’s aims and priorities. The Advertising Standards Authority's code includes provisions that marketing communications:

  • Must be legal, decent, honest and truthful

  • Must not bring advertising into disrepute

  • Must conform to the Code

  • Must respect the principles of fair competition
