Workshops E-news Advertising Policy & Rates

A.   Introduction

STAT has introduced an electronic newsletter which allows the advertising of non-STAT Workshops, Talks and Seminars (henceforth “Workshop(s)”) for teachers and students only, sent via email at monthly intervals to all STAT members; i.e. teachers, students and retired members.

Income generated from this advertising will be used to subsidise STAT’s websites’ general upkeep and maintenance.

This policy is intended to provide rates and guidelines as to the type of advertising that may be permitted and the technical standards associated with the display of those advertisements.

B.   General Principles

The placement of workshop information in the newsletter will be subject to approval before it is disseminated via the electronic newsletter. STAT reserves the right to refuse to promote any individual workshop, which, in the opinion of STAT is considered inappropriate and not meeting the conditions below.

D.   Advertising Standards Authority

All advertising must adhere to any relevant regulations and Code of Practice of STAT. All adverts must also adhere to the codes of conduct laid down by the Advertising Standards Authority and must not conflict with STAT’s aims and priorities. The Advertising Standards Authority's code includes provisions that marketing communications:

  • Must be legal, decent, honest and truthful
  • Must not bring advertising into disrepute
  • Must conform to the Code
  • Must respect the principles of fair competition

The advice and coaching from my Alexander teacher during training for a London to Paris bike ride transformed my experience immeasurably and I am pleased to say that I was really able to enjoy the event without suffering as many of my co-participants did. I would urge anyone who is considering any physical challenge and is interested in, or, practising AT to seek some specific AT tips and advice.
